It’s hard to believe we are knocking on 2013’s door. December is a very hectic month so there are a few dates I’d like for you to mark on your calendar. Dec 11 is the Club Christmas Party. Everyone loves getting together and sharing a special covered dish. Dec 14 is ALL YOU CAN EAT WING NIGHT. We’ve had a great response to Tom’s Wings. All who’ve tasted Tom’s Wings will tell you that you cannot go wrong for $10 per person. Dec 17 The Out of Towners will be playing under our Candlelite Pavilion. Dec 19 we’ll have TEAM TRIVIA with a Prime Rib & Fried Shrimp Dinner, back by request. SHS Baseball Team will be having their Annual Oyster Roast on Dec 22. Our NEW YEAR’S EVE PARTY will once again be entertained by Buck Crumpton and you’ll be dining on a PRIME RIB DINNER. Look for more detail online and in the newsletter. Trae and I would like to thank all of you who have supported us each week. We always listen and appreciate your ideas. We have a few more nightly specials in the making for next year. Have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! ~~Lee Ray

Our Ace of the Year Tournament will be on December 6. Our Par 3 Tournament will be held on December 13 at 9:30. Sandra (Loy) Meyers is planning this fun “play day” for us, so mark your calendars, sign up for the tournament and the luncheon that will follow! IMPORTANT NEWS ladies! There will be NO posting of scores in December. Our club will begin a new Handicap System called GHIN. We will all have new numbers which will be assigned to us. Please hold on to your score cards for posting at a later date. Bray and Suzanne are attending classes and they are hoping the GHIN system will be in effect around Jan 3, 2013. Tee times for ladies for Dec and Jan will be at 10 AM except for Dec 13 - our Par 3 tournament. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving week. November was a busy month for sure. On November 7, Megan and I were fortunate to welcome a new addition to our family - Bufort Clifton Blanton IV "Boze" and we want to thank everyone for their kind words and advice. On the golf side, congratulations to our guys for winning "the Clash" against Berkeley. This was a tough gross match played in late October pitting 12 of our top players vs 12 of their top. Also, the player of the year standings are up to date and it looks like we are going to have a tight race for player of the year - there will also be a senior player of the year. As it stands right now the first annual Players Cup (determined by top 22 in player of the year standings) will more than likely occur in January because of everyone's busy December schedule. Final standings and players of the year will be revealed at the club Christmas party on December 11. The Hartmann Christmas Open is coming up on December 8 at 12 pm and this will yield player of the year points under the one day category. I will continue to do merchandise sales throughout the holidays including the "try a new ball" deals running now featured so far have been the Bridgestone E5, Srixon Trispeed and Callaway Warbird. I received some requests for Ashworth sweaters and have received 36 this week that should be out in the shop sometime next week (got to find some space). Please keep us in mind for any golf related Christmas gifts, we can beat any local price and place custom orders to fit your game better. Hopefully this fair weather will continue and we have another great December. Happy holidays to all and we all look forward to seeing everyone around the club and at the upcoming Christmas party. ---

IMPORTANT HANDICAP UPDATE
The transition from the GolfNet handicap system to the USGA GHIN handicap service begins at midnight on November 30th. From December 1 to early January, the Carolinas will observe a "Handicap Score Posting Holiday" while data is converted into the new system. Golf Association Services of the Carolinas (GASC) members will not have the ability to enter scores during the posting holiday. Members are encouraged to hold their score cards for rounds played during this period so they can be posted once the GHIN system is up and running in early January.
