reminders & Notices
The player of the year race is wide open right now. After the Cuthbert Cup on October 28, I have a feeling there will be about four or five guys who could claim player of the year. Top point earners (top five or top ten) at the end of the year will have priority on club teams such as the annual Summerville Cup against Pine Forest. Also, sometime this winter we will host the first annual Player’s Cup which is a Ryder Cup style match between the top 22 point earners at the completion of tournament season. I’ve had a few ask me about logo golf bags – these are available through Ping and Titleist and will vary based on size and logo placement – I hope to have a few Ping premium logo carry bags in stock in the next few weeks. The “try a new ball” sale has been going well – we have offered the Srixon Trispeed Tour and Callaway Warbird so far and have more planned for the coming weeks. The 2012 Cuthbert Classic was wellsupported with 58 two-man teams competing in the "Tommy Cuthbert" Low Gross Division and the "June Cuthbert" Low Net Div. Many thanks to all the golfers and hole sponsors that helped raise over $2,500 for the Dorchester Free School Board's Tommy Cuthbert Scholarship Fund. Congratulations to Mr. George Frye and Tad Brown on winning the low gross with a 57 and to members Tom Muse and Don Williams for winning the low net. Hopefully we can have as many weeks as possible like the last few – it’s tough to beat 70 degrees and sunny this time of year!
