Congratulations to many of our ladies! Our Aces of the Month in August for the 9-hole group was Malissa Ward, and for the 18hole group was Sandra Loy. Sissue Beauchene also had an Eagle on #12 on September 11, and Jessie Finucan had a hole-in-one on #15 on September 13. Great playing ladies! We hope everyone will attend the luncheon on October 4 after our Club Championship Tournament. We will enjoy a delicious luncheon prepared by Lee Ray and our catering staff. Also we’ll have a meeting to discuss the re-organization of our ladies golfing group! Our Thursday Tee Times for October begin at 9:30. Please check in by 9:00. Also, Tee Times for Tuesday in October will begin at 9:30. Please call the Pro Shop if you are playing on Tuesday!
reminders & notices
To start off I want to thank all the seniors who participated in the Senior Club Championship and President's Cup. We had 38 players which is just as much as our open Club Championship. Congrats to Wilson Rogers for winning his second Senior Champion title, to Johnny Sims for winning the Statesman title, and Tom Carmany for repeating as Senior President's Cup Champion. There were a few questions on handicaps that I would be happy to clear up in person - the most important thing is to consistently log all scores. I can go over equitable stroke control and what to log when playing a points system (like our blitzes) if anyone wants to talk to me about it. Our next big club tournament will be the Cuthbert Cup on Sunday, October 28 at 12:30- this is a two player captains choice with gross and net prizes and also benefits a great cause--The Tommy Cuthbert Scholarship Fund offered by the Dorchester Free School Board. Player of the year points will be up to date in the next few weeks and it looks like we have a tight race so far. Drop by the shop to see the standings on the door by the Coke cooler. Be on the lookout for merchandise sales and member special sales in the pro shop. One special running through the end of the year will be buy two Srixon Zstar sleeves and receive one free - this is a premium ball (Keegan Bradley's ball of choice) at a great price after the deal. I also plan on running some "Try a new ball" deals each week where we'll have a certain type of ball on sale. There are some great looking new clubs coming out from the various companies we have accounts with so drop by and see a catalog if interested in getting some new clubs or accessories, and remember the member discount applies to special orders. ---
